Service User Sue went on an amazing trip to Blackpool with Carer Sarah
Sue has been a client of Papillon Home Care for several years and is well-loved by the team. Sue has a mild learning disability and can be highly vulnerable. Papillon supports Sue with her social needs, including days out, shopping and home care needs such as medication and meal preparation.
Sue has been wanting to go to Blackpool for a while, and with the support of her fantastic carer, Sarah, we were able to make this dream come true!
“Sue was so excited to be going on her first holiday in years. We headed to Blackpool by train. Our hotel was amazing, with entertainment in the evenings, which Sue would sing along to each night. We went up the Blackpool tower, to the tower ballroom, and to Madame Tussauds.
Sue loved playing bingo, which she did every day, and won three massive teddy bears. She spoke to lots of new people and played the 2p slots. The highlight of her week was seeing the Blackpool Illuminations.
She had the best time ever and made so many memories.”
“I was honoured to have been asked to accompany Sue to Blackpool for her holiday. We had a real laugh together and I’m so pleased I could make her so happy and take her back to the place she always wanted to see again” Sarah, Carer.
“It was a lovely holiday. I saw so many things. I had a great time. I can’t choose the best thing because I loved them all. I was so glad to see the lights. I am very grateful to have been taken to Blackpool with Sarah. I can’t wait for another holiday again,” Sue
