We have invested in New and improved online training with ‘Care skills academy.’

This has made our training process quicker and much more accessible. On completion you will qualify for your care certificate.

The training we provide will include both practical and theory sessions, full support is available throughout.

Once you have completed your application with us at Papillon Home Care,
we will send you a link to complete the subjects online and start your shadowing.

In addition to the subjects above, we can provide online learning for a variety of specialist care conditions, such as Dementia awareness, Diabetes, Epilepsy and End of life care. Again, these are just a few examples of the training that we can provide through ‘Care skills’

How long will the training take?

Once a login has been created, the learner is free to complete the training at their own pace. The mandatory training should take no more than 28 hours, which is the maximum number of hours for which you will be *paid. Each subject includes interactive videos and theory-based learning. Practical competencies will be completed with a senior or trained member of staff. This includes Moving and Handling, Medication and Catheter training – This list is not exhaustive of the practical training you will receive.

What if I don’t have a computer?

All of the online training is accessible from a laptop/ computer, Ipad or smart phone device. If a learner does not have access to any of these or has trouble completing the training at home, we have facilities available at our office, where we can provide a quiet environment and support from an office member to complete the training.

How will I be supported?

Our office staff and your care co-ordinator will be there to support you and offer full support through your training and your care career with us. We will also offer shadow shifts and start new to care applicants on double calls with an experienced carer on competition of training and induction.

How long is the training valid for?

All staff must complete a mix of annual and 3-yearly paid update training for the mandatory modules in selected courses.
